Freely Speaking Audio Devotion
Welcome to Freely Speaking, an OHSOFREE devotional ministry where we share our hearts and trust God for transformation.
Today’s devotion was written by Liz’a Biswell.
“We are human, but we do not wage wars as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments” (2 Corinthians 10:3-4 NLT).
This verse came alive to me when I was asked to join a project at my church. We created prayer boards to encourage people to pray for the various ministries taking place there. I enjoyed worship more than anything else, so I quickly volunteered to do the worship team board. I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
I’d never been required to think about why I loved worship so much. As I pushed past the emotional response of joy and comfort to study the true purpose of worship, God revealed to me more than I could have expected.
As I was driving one evening, I felt the Lord whisper to my spirit, “worship is my warship”. I didn’t know what it meant, but through prayer and study, I began to understand what Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 10:3-4. We don’t battle the way humans do!
One of God’s weapons is worship; it’s armed with truth, anchored in God’s promises, and navigated by the Spirit. It's how we fight, defend, and stay the course. It reminds us who God is and who we are in Him.
Worship keeps us humble and gives us strength. It proclaims God’s truth not because life is easy but because He is worthy.
I believe we’re all still a work in progress. You are not the only one in the battle. God gives us the ammunition we need to fight the good fight. To defeat the lies of the enemy, we have to have God’s truth in our hearts and minds.
So today, lift your voice not just in song, but in surrender. Let every note, every word, every breath be a declaration of His truth. Let worship be your warship, sailing you to the victory He has already won.
