Freely Speaking Audio Devotion
Welcome to Freely Speaking, an OHSOFREE devotional ministry where we share our hearts and trust God for transformation.
Today, Sharee Gaiser shares a helpful acronym to help us remember the power of peace.
The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14 NIV
As a mother of four children, I often yearned for five minutes of peace. Finding a quiet spot to gather my thoughts was a constant battle, only to be pulled back into the fray by a toy-related argument or a kitchen disaster. Collapsing into bed at night, I knew the same chaos would greet me the next day.
While we may enjoy life's activities, there are times when our minds and bodies crave silence and solitude, a break from the constant hustle and bustle. It's not just a want; it's a need—our minds, souls, and bodies need peace!
In Exodus 33, Moses inquires of God after being instructed to lead the people, eager to know all the details of his assignment. God responds, reassuring Moses that His presence will be with him, rest will come, and he need not be anxious or afraid.
True peace often comes when we slow down and rest in God's presence. He invites us to be still, listen and find comfort in His nearness. In quiet moments, we sense His guidance and feel His love. God’s presence becomes a refuge, offering peace beyond our circumstances and reminding us that He remains in control, even in chaos. Resting in Him is key to experiencing deep, lasting peace.
This helpful PEACE acronym can help center our hearts and minds on the peace that comes from God and how it transforms our lives:
P - Presence of God: Finding peace in knowing God is always with you.
E - Eternal Hope: Trusting in the hope we have in Christ, regardless of the circumstances.
A - Assurance: Resting in the security that God is in control.
C - Contentment: Cultivating a heart of gratitude and trust, regardless of what we have or lack.
E - Endurance: Having the strength to endure trials, knowing that peace comes through perseverance in faith.
Looking for peace, friend? Look no further than the presence of God, where you will discover peace and rest that is good for your soul.
