Freely Speaking Audio Devotion

Nov 19, 2025    Marge Webb

Welcome to Freely Speaking, an OHSOFREE devotional ministry where we share our hearts and trust God for transformation.

Today’s devotion was written by Marge Webb.

“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalm 34:1 KJV).

As a kid, I rarely had the opportunity to swim. Visiting a city pool was considered “mixed bathing,” and my parents would not allow it. On vacation, we stayed in motels with small pools, and some even had diving boards. I loved falling into the pool headfirst and feeling the cool water saturate my whole being.

That’s what true worship is like. When we first learn to worship, it may simply be trying to sing a song in church and looking around to notice if anyone is watching. We are self-conscious instead of enveloped in His presence. We are just dipping our toes in the water.

As we learn more about worship, we may get knee-deep in the water and then waist-deep. As we learn true worship, we dive in and are encased by the presence of God, saturated by His Spirit.

So where do we begin? First, give God your affection. Whatever is taking your time, your love, your attention and affection, make sure those things haven’t become idols. Give God first place in your life.

Next, include God in your daily life. Like the scripture above says, I will bless the Lord at ALL times. His praise is ALWAYS within me. Praise Him all day, through good times and bad.

Finally, show reverence when you pray and worship. Remember, you have the privilege of being in a relationship with God Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

He is worthy of our praise which is focused on thanking Him for what He has done for us; perfect for this season of Thanksgiving.

He is worthy of our worship, which is giving ourselves completely to God. Just like that feeling of awe when diving into a cool pool of water, feel the amazement of His presence pour over you as you worship our great God.
